DEBUNKING THE DIET MYTH

I hope you enjoy my diet and fitness story; I certainly have. It's full of successes and disappointments. I have weighed as much as 225. As I write this, I'm down to 160 (my youthful weight). As with so many Americans today, I have struggled with this. I love fast food, snacks, desserts, and particularly high fat foods like steaks and pretty much anything fried - particularly french fries.

The time finally came for me to grow up and take care of myself. In 2014, I embarked on a self-designed program of fitness and nutrition. I would like to tell you this was fully designed from the very beginning, but that is simply not the case. I started out very simply – only eat nutritious food and get moving.

As time passed, I lost weight and became more fit. I feathered in additional complexity to the program. And this many years later I am at my most fit and lightest since early adulthood. This program works for me, and I’m betting it will work for you.

It’s not very hard to follow. You get to eat plenty, and foods you like (just not food you like that has little to no nutritional value – sorry birthday cake and ice cream). It’s also not an “eat all the pizza and drink all the beer you want and lose 30 pounds in 30 days” diet. It’s more a lifestyle. It took me five years to reach my goals. But now I think I can maintain for the rest of my life, instead of yoyoing back to my highest weight ever.

I hope you enjoy Debunking The Diet Myth and it helps you accomplish your goals. And I hope you will join our social media “movement” (that’s probably a bit ambitious) to help others get moving in the right direction.

Good luck!!!
